Recycled Water Trucking Program
The Sonoma County Water Agency (Water Agency) has a recycled water trucking program (Trucking Program), which was approved on Tuesday, September 14, 2010. In this program tertiary-treated recycled water can be picked up by trucks authorized by the Water Agency from Sonoma Valley Treatment Plant, Airport Treatment Plant, or Russian River Treatment Plant.
The hope of the Trucking Program is to reduce use of potable water for irrigation and dust control. The Trucking Program allows potential recycled water users (User) to truck and use recycled water for agricultural irrigation and dust control at construction sites. Users wanting water for irrigation are required to sign the Water Agency/Districts standard recycled water agreement in addition to the Trucking Program’s permit application.
