Isolation Valves Seismic Hazard Mitigation

Description: The Work consists of the installation of 14 intermediate butterfly isolation valves throughout the Sonoma County Water Agency's 90 miles of water transmission pipeline outside and within the city limits of Cotati, Petaluma, Rohnert Park, Santa Rosa and Sonoma. The Work includes appurtenances such as air valves, valve boxes, cathodic protection, temporary line stop technology and thrust restraint.
Mirabel Fish Screen and Fish Ladder Replacement

Description: The Work consisted of construction of a vertical slot fish ladder, fish screen with 6 intake bays and viewing gallery with 400 square feet of viewing windows. Work included a temporary dam and rock fish passage upstream of the Wohler Bridge, pipe pile foundation system, fish screen cleaning system with a vertical traveling brush and controller. Water Agency staff utilizes video cameras to count the fish moving through the ladder and we bring over 3,000 students per year to the viewing gallery as part of the Westside Water Education Program.

Description: The Work consisted of construction of a water education building at 9703 Wohler Road and also included a new driveway entrance and parking area. This facility is the field study site for the Water Agency's Water Education Program. Over 3,000 students visit the center each school year and learn about the connection between our drinking water and the Russian River, water quality parameters for endangered Russian River salmon and utilize the laboratory to discover the importance of water efficiency and aquatic life.
Sonoma Valley County Sanitation District Agua Caliente Creek Crossing

Description: The Work consisted of replacing 620 linear feet of sewer trunk main, including removal and realignment of trunk main and removal of the above channel crossing of Agua Caliente Creek. Work also included construction of 639 linear feet of HDPE pipe, 239 linear feet of siphon pipe and 133 linear feet of pipe rammed steel casing under Agua Caliente Creek.
Procurement of Large Woody Debris

Description: The Water Agency purchased over 1,000 large woody debris units to be used in the Dry Creek habitat enhancement projects. Species include Redwood, Douglas Fir and Eucalyptus. These logs and root wads will be used to create habitats that reduce water velocities for Coho salmon rearing in Dry Creek. The Project is one component of the National Marine Fisheries Service's Russian River Biological Opinion, which is a federally mandated blueprint to help save endangered fish and preserve Water Agency's regional water supply.
SPCSD West Robles Avenue Collection System Replacement Project

Description: The Work consists of construction of approximately 440 feet of sanitary sewer main in West Robles Avenue. The Work includes the excavation, backfilling and surface restoration for the construction of the sewer main. This includes several manholes, laterals and modifications to existing manholes. The Agency worked in conjunction with residents on West Robles Avenue to complete this Work quickly and mitigate disruptions.
404 Aviation Boulevard Roof Replacement Project

McGill Road Recycled Water Pipeline

Dry Creek Habitat Enhancement Project, Phase II

Description: Construction of habitat modifications within the Dry Creek Valley along Dry Creek from approximately 1/2 mile upstream of Lambert Bridge Road to 1/2 mile downstream of Lambert Bridge Road near City of Healdsburg. Work included habitat modifications, including new side channels, ponds, alcoves and rock riffles. Enhancements were made to existing pools through selective grading, installation of woody debris, log jams and large boulders as anchor material. New vegetation was planted and erosion control measures were put in place to maintain longevity of the project.

Santa Rosa Aqueduct Seismic Hazard Mitigation (Rodgers Creek Fault Crossing)

The Work included the installation of approximately 1,900 linear feet of 36-inch steel water pipe including related fittings and appurtenances, a new water meter turnout, a manifold system to allow for bypass flows, cathodic protection system, electrical service panel, conduits, and cables, and abandonment of existing meter vault and a portion of the existing aqueduct.
Service Center Relocation (2025 Aviation Boulevard)

Description of Work: Construction of a new building and remodeling of an existing building to for the Water Agency’s new Service Center at 2025 Aviation Boulevard, Santa Rosa, California. Work included the construction of a pre-engineered metal building, grading, paving, mechanical, electrical, and related work. In addition, Work included construction of a pond loop system involving the heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system in the new building, which was a specific component of the Renewable Energy Secure Communities project. The pond loop used the existing 100 million gallon recycled water storage pond as the heat dissipation source for heating and cooling of the new Service Center. The heating, ventilating, and air conditioning system in the new Service Center will circulate water in a closed loop through coils of plastic pipe installed at the bottom of the recycled water storage pond (pond loop). These coils of pipe will dissipate heat in the summer and absorb heat in the winter within the pond.
