Paid Engineering Internship Available
in our Operations Engineering Section!
Desired Qualifications: Good analytical skills and comprehension of mathematics and statistics. Ability to handle multiple tasks with attention to detail. Good written and oral skills. Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. Sewer/Hydrology Modeling experience a plus.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assist staff in engineering work for Water/Wastewater, participate as a productive member of Operations Engineering and participate as a team member to carry out various assigned duties as directed;
Required skills, abilities, education levels, or other qualifications necessary for the job:
Knowledge of: Civil Engineering principles relating to hydrology and hydraulics, Planning and organizational skills; Operation of standard office equipment and a personal computer and job-related software applications.
Ability to: Communicate effectively; Compile reports from a wide variety of sources and transmit data; Understand and follow oral and/or written policies, procedures, and instructions; Demonstrate integrity, ingenuity, and inventiveness in the performance of assigned tasks.
Acceptable Experience and Training: Major Coursework in Civil or Mechanical Engineering and any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Must have at least one year of college course work in Engineering.
Must be currently enrolled at an accredited college or university and possess a valid California driver’s license.
Internship Compensation per hour:
- Undergraduate Level $13.61
- Graduate Level $16.54
Number of hours per week: 20-40
