Public Outreach Program

The Public Outreach Program for the new water supply agreement is made up of several components, which include workshops and online activities.New Agreement Workshop

Workshops
These Workshops include facilitated discussion of the issues, ways of addressing those issues, etc. The consultant is present to help guide the process and discuss ideas raised by workshop attendees.  The intent is that these workshops provide an opportunity for the public to become engaged in providing comments regarding developing the new Water Supply Agreement.

Negotiation Sessions
Negotiation sessions involve discussion, debate and voting on issues by the parties that will sign the new agreement. Sessions are generally held on the fourth Monday (9:00 a.m. to noon) at the Laguna Room located at the Subregional Water Reclaimation Facility located near the sotherly end of Llano Road.  The public is welcome to attend these sessions and time is made available at the beginning and close of each session for public comment.

Further Workshops/Hearings
Potential signers to the proposed new Restructured Agreement for Water Supply (Cities of Santa Rosa, Petaluma, Cotati, Rohnert Park, Sonoma, and Windsor and North Marin Water District, Valley of the Moon Water District, and Forestville Water District) are in the process of (or are planning) noticing and holding a workshop(s) and/or a public hearing(s) as each deems necessary and appropriate regarding the proposed agreement.

All workshops and hearings are concluded.

On-Line Activities
The public outreach program also includes an ambitious on-line strategy for public involvement.  We have established this website to provide you with information regarding the public outreach program and other steps in the negotiation of and consideration of the new agreement.

Furthermore, the website will provide an opportunity to raise issues and make comments about the new agreement. Comments Received will be posted weekly on this website. In addition, summaries of workshops will be placed on the website shortly after each workshop is held.  In these ways, the website will provide opportunity for an ongoing conversation about the new agreement.
